What does it mean to be zen? In what construct do you find yourself and what version of you do you feel you need to personify? We are mixed feelings in a world that we can’t control, nor should we. To be zen is to be present in your current state. Breathe, live, feel and yearn.
I moved to Florida with the hopes to be a bartender on the beach out of some type of cocktail fantasy. What I found instead was something far more riveting, I found myself through a long and often challenging process. After college I took a leap of faith. I moved from most of my family and decided to move in with my sister in Florida with the hopes that I would escape and find my true self. After trying for several months at looking for a position with my degree in exercise physiology, I turned to a local retail company. Through my 13 years with this company I have truly found who I am and what I want to become.

A quote that always resonated with me from day one of becoming a sales manager in retail. Some days I have to challenge myself on what did I truly do today to make a difference in someone’s life. In the end, there is no money or worldly possessions that we take the grave, it’s only the lasting impression that you make on the world. If you can take only a brief moment out of each day and make someone feel good, even if for only a short period of time, do it. You have no idea what this can do to affect that person. We all have inner demons and challenges we face on a daily basis, how can you ease or numb these instances for someone. How can you make them feel just a bit better after being with you?
